"I was expecting you,
while I saw a belly grow,
while I was imagining
what your name would be.

With a tear in my eyes,
I dreamed awake in you,
and you made me happy,
without even seeing you.

My impatience to feel
your tiny fragile body,
and your little spirit
in between my hands. 

In my thoughts I held you...
your head near my neck,
your warmness on my chest,
and a lullaby on my lips. 

For me it was impossible
imagine myself without you...
back then, you've filled my life,
when I was even expecting you... 

Even I almost heard you,
with a sharp tone on your voice,
when you already wanted to know
everything on a simple "why"?. 

In my mind there were
fantastic bed time stories,
that me with joy would tell...
while lying near to you. 

While you were growing in the belly,
you were growing in my heart too,
and when you came to the world,
it was when my spirit really born. 

Now, I already have you,
and I give thanks to Heaven
for allowing me to embrace
the blood of my blood.

Since I have you with me,
I feel I've been blessed,
because I've found on you,
the answer to all my needs. 

All my expectations have changed,
and my world won't be the same,
because far from feel me "Man",
now proud I am to be... "Dad". 

My little child,
now, I am you...
and you and I,
we're one and the same..."
